How Do You Feel About A Former Bush Adviser Who Secretly Taped Him?
Read this story from the Washington Post and tell me if you agree with me: I'd be just as disgusted with a person who had done this to Bill Clinton, Al Gore, or John Kerry as I am with this Doug Wead character. What a rotten thing to do to a person who has placed you in a position of trust.

Remember the loathing heaped upon Monica Lewinsky's "friend," Linda Tripp, for doing something similar. This will not receive mirror-image treatment (by either side of the political--or journalistic--divide, I'm afraid), because all too often the judgment depends on whose ox is being gored.
That being said, I don't buy Mr. Wead's assertions that he did this only "for history" and not "for the money." Legitimate historians ask permission to record oral histories.
