Why Is There So Much Identity Theft?

Today I enjoyed a meal at my favorite cafe. When paying my bill, I happened to glance at the machine used by the owner to process credit card payments. The message on the LCD panel read, "Swipe the customer's card." If the credit card processing companies are instructing their clients to steal customer credit cards, is it any wonder that there is so much identity theft?

Cute. I never thought about that play on words. Maybe the credit card companies should come up with a better term. How about e-read or mag-read?

I noticed that too.. Even at the department stores, they also keep the card number and your name. Now it seems that it is easier than ever for these identity thieves to track down your personal info to use our credit for their own credit.
