Conservatism: Fractious But Formidable, and Opportunity-Rich

David Brooks makes a good case here that the conservative movement's strength comes from its internal divisions and disagreements, while liberalism's current malaise results from its stifling orthodoxy. I think he is on to something.

There's more: John Fund analyzes recently-available 2004 election data and sees opportunities for Republicans. I found his analysis regarding Hispanic voters (a group close to my heart) especially interesting.
