It Can't Happen Here - Can It?

Link
Read this and tell me what you think. Warning: Here's a hint of what you'll see at this link:

Nearly half the newborn babies who died in Flanders over a recent year-long period were helped to die by their doctors, a new study reported yesterday.

Paediatricians in the Dutch-speaking region of Belgium either discreetly stopped treating the babies or, in 17 cases, illegally killed them with lethal doses of painkillers.

The study, published in The Lancet, examined the deaths of every baby who died within a year of birth in Flanders between August 1999 and July 2000.
The decline of the West doesn't seem like such an academic subject when I read this stuff.

I have it on good authority that each of the dead babies remarked to at least one of their nursery mates that they had no desire to live in a handicapped manner.

Anonymous: Your post is a little too subtle for me. If you indeed intend it ironically, then bravo. Otherwise, a post expressing such callous drivel does not deserve even this short response, but I'm feeling generous.

Yes--irony was intended. You seem a little tightly wound these days. Perhaps a vacation is in order?

Anonymous: Sorry! Thanks for the comment. As for my being "tightly wound," WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT??? I'm NOT tightly wound and anyone who says I am CAN JUST . . . Well, come to think of it, maybe a vacation is  in order . . . . ;-)

There is a tendency to relax now that Terri is with the Lord, but we have to work hard to prevent other such occurences. If you doubt what is at stake, see this post from new SoCal Alliance member Hedgehog Blog. See the full post here
