Heather McDonald has written this eye-opening piece about what it was like to interrogate Al-Quaeda prisoners at Guantanamo.

UPDATE: John Hinderaker at Power Line reviews the transcript of the Alberto Gonzalez hearings and applies a little legal analysis which I find compelling. People are forgetting that Gonzalez gives legal advice, not policy counsel. That's what he was asked to do regarding the applicability of the Geneva Conventions to the al Quaeda terrorists, and he did it well. The Conventions clearly do not apply to such combatants.
